Alison McCourt joined Nuffield Health in August 2022 as its Clinical Services Director, providing leadership to clinical teams across the charity’s hospitals, fitness and wellbeing centres, healthcare clinics, and workplace wellbeing services. In October 2024, she was promoted to the Executive Committee and appointed Executive Chief Clinical & Quality Officer, overseeing clinical governance, patient safety, and quality of care across the organisation.

Alison had a distinguished career in the British Army (joining as a nurse in 1988) and, as part of the senior NHS England and Improvement team responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, her achievements include being awarded an OBE for her role in combating the Ebola crisis in October 2014 in Sierra Leone; being appointed Chief Nursing Officer in the British Army in 2018; and achieving a CBE for her leadership of military nursing.
