Mark Cheetham is a consultant surgeon at The Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Hospital Trust and National Clinical Lead for General Surgery at the Getting It Right First Time Programme. His clinical interests include emergency general surgery and colorectal surgery, particularly inflammatory bowel disease, proctology, colonoscopy and abdominal wall reconstruction. Trained at St Thomas’s Hospital Medical School, Mark completed specialist training in Oxford and London before being appointed consultant in Shrewsbury in 2005. He has held several senior leadership roles and is focused on reducing variation in healthcare, improving surgical sustainability and supporting NHS elective recovery.
